The purpose of Immanuel Christian Church is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, to help people know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, and to lead people to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We do this through teaching, praying, serving, worshipping and fellowship.
TEACHING: We teach what God has recorded in His Word, the Bible.
PRAYING: Prayer is communicating with God. We talk to Him and develop a personal relationship with Him.
SERVING: It is the privilege and responsibility of all believers to serve God. It involves using our time, skills, possessions and gifts to help others.
WORSHIPPING: Worship is recognizing the awesome majesty and power of God. We worship through singing, words of thanksgiving and praise, and communion.
FELLOWSHIP: Fellowship is people committing themselves to meaningful relationships through love, care, acceptance and forgiveness.
Teaching - 2 Timothy 3: 16-17
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Praying - James 5: 13-16
13 Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Serving - Deuteronomy 13: 4
4 It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.
Worshipping - Psalms 100
1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Fellowship - 1 Peter 3: 8-9
8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
